An opposite sign, or complimentary sign, is the sign that is located opposite to one’s sign on a zodiac wheel. Opposite signs often have similar goals, values and objectives but have different ways of reaching those goals. Through one’s opposite sign, a person can learn how to have a more balanced approach to life.
Gemini and Sagittarius as Opposite Signs
Gemini and Sagittarius are complimentary, or opposite, signs. Both Gemini and Sagittarius are masculine, mutable signs. Masculine signs, which are fire and air signs, tend to be more active and energetic. Masculine signs are more interested in the spiritual and mental realms. Mutable signs are critics, visionaries and the final step an element (earth, air, fire or water) passes through to complete its purpose.

Sagittarius is the mutable fire sign of the zodiac. Sagittariuses are curious and adventurous folk by nature. Their love of travel often brings them to places where they can play on intellectual and philosophical grounds. They’re usually philosophy buffs. They’re natural risk takers and idealists who are eternally optimistic.
What Gemini and Sagittarius Learn From Each Other
Gemini and Sagittarius are concerned with communication, information and knowledge. Both signs are curious truth-seekers who receive and organize their world differently.
From Gemini, Sagittarius will be inspired by his ideas and concepts to use his own creative juices. Gemini fans Sagittarius’ fire, so to speak. Gemini is also a master of details and facts which will help Sagittarius put her expansive, philosophical picture together.
Gemini will be entertained by Sagittarius’ charm and quick wit. Gemini likes characters, and he finds his match in Sagittarius. From Sagittarius, a Gemini can learn to take a more optimistic view of things. They will also be encouraged to be more spontaneous. Geminis have a tendency to keep things bottled up, which a clever and utterly frank Sagittarius can usually get out of them. A Gemini can also gain a sense of the bigger picture and become more adventurous.
